From May 15 until May 17, ProWein, the world’s largest trade fair for wines and spirits, is once again taking place face-to-face, as in the good old days. “Both our exhibitors around the world and our visitors give us very positive feedback. After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the sector feels a great desire to meet in person, to network, to taste – and of course to order,” summarizes Bastian Mingers, Project Director of ProWein.

Thus, ProWein 2022 once again offers a wide range of wines and spirits, the scope of which is unique in the world. International leading brands are represented there as well as importers and exporters, sales agencies, winegrowers or the regions of major wine-growing nations. In order to ensure the necessary distancing rules, ProWein has been expanded by three halls to a total of 13 halls. 5,500 exhibitors share the 13 halls.

The complete Italian offer can be found in Halls 15 to 17. All regions of Italy will be represented, including the largest collective participations of Veneto, Piedmont and Tuscany. Alongside the Italian companies with the highest sales such as Zonin, Botter Vini and Fratelli Martini, many other producers will be presented, including for example Castello di Ama from Tuscany, Elena Walch from South Tyrol or Elio Altare from Piedmont.

Halls 9 to 11 are dedicated to the French wine industry. All the wine regions are present, as well as large houses such as Castel Frère, Albert Bichot, Bernard Magrez, Dourthe, Paul Mas or Gèrard Bertrand. The French offer is completed by the Champagne Lounge. On the occasion of ProWein 2022, around 200 producers are present there and give a complete overview of the sparkling wines of Champagne.

In Halls 1, 4 and 5 all relevant German wine regions are present. Around 800 exhibitors from Germany are expected there, e.g. Dreissigacker, Schneider, Hensel, Weil Herres Layat, Schlumberger and Weinkontor Freund. There is also the organic sector, with international organic federations and individual exhibitors, such as the Can Axartell estate. The organic federations Ecovin, Bioland, Demeter and Biodyvin will also participate. At the special and popular “Organic World” exhibition, 45 winegrowers from Europe have registered, for example from Italy, Greece, France and Spain.

Austria has also found a home in Hall 5, Portugal in Hall 13, Spain in Halls 13 and 14. Hall 12 is entirely dedicated to producers from across the Atlantic, with among others the Wine Institute of California, Wines of Chile and Wines of Argentina. Hall 13 is dedicated to spirits.

Finally, Hall 7.0, the exhibition of « same but different » trends, professional visitors will be able, as already in previous years, to discover and explore new « craft » drinks in a « stylish » atmosphere. About 120 exhibitors will participate during this ProWein 2022. The offer will range from gin to whiskey and rum through mezcal.

ProWein will be open as usual from Sunday to Tuesday, daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
