Before the opening of Vinexpo in Singapore next week, the wine trade is focus on the Bordeaux futures. The Primeurs 2022 (Future wines) in Bordeaux are sublime, 2022 is already qualified as the vintage of the century. Nature has been generous. Despite capricious weather and a very sunny year, the clay-limestone soils retained enough water to make wines with freshness and finesse with perfect balance, without any over-ripeness. Wines of great purity, which can be tasted in 10, 20, 50 years… for the greatest ones.

A victory for the vines which showed its resilience in the face of an extraordinary climatology. Although it was able to withstand long hot and dry episodes, it benefited from cool nights which, unlike the summer of 2003, preserved the acidity. On the other hand, the winegrowers, strong in their knowledge of the terroirs, have also been able to adapt in order to produce wines full of brilliance and elegance. The singularity of this vintage lies in the paradox of powerful but delicate wines, with a richness tamed by the finesse of the tannins and the alcoholic concentration counterbalanced by fine acidity. In red, the wines are certainly dense, but remarkable for their harmony. The climatology suffered was transformed into an alchemy: the heat and the dryness respectively favoring the smoothness of the alcohols and the tannic concentration, and the nights favoring a tremendous freshness.

This year, we tasted a selection of over 200 wines. Our selection to have in your cellar : Château Figeac, Les Carmes Haut Brion, Château Canon, Château Corbin, Château Fonplégade, Château Beauregard, Petit Village, Château Lagrange, Calon Ségur, Ducru Beaucaillou, Fourcas Hosten…
